Happy Thursday guys. I'd like to share with you today, some shots taken at the 'Malaysia Art Stone and Bonsai Exhibition & Competition 2009'.
For those of you who don't know what 'Bonsai' is, it originates from Japan or China, I think. 'Bonsai', literally translate as 'tree-in-a-tray'. It is the art of aesthetic miniaturization of trees (According to an expert from Wikipedia University). A few years back, I surprised my friends when I got myself a bonsai tree. However, they were NOT surprised when it died a few weeks later. I kept forgetting to water the darn thing. LOL Note: I had to do some background removal in these shots because it was very distracting, and it might have lost some details in the processed. While I don't have any, I've always like bonzai trees. Nice captures Sparda. Too bad yours died. Darn water!

Gorgeous shots, Sparda! I really like how you used the lighting to vanish the background. The trees are beautiful! We, too, had a 75-year old Bansai...it lasted 6 months in our house....AND we watered it!
Thanks for sharing these beauties! Jim

These are Great shots! Bonsai is a wonderful art form, unfortunatly like you I manage to kill them soon after I get them. I see them for sale along the roads here in South Korea, but they take a lot of love and care. I'm good at most plants, but no so much with the Bonsai's
Thanks for sharing these Michael.

LOL.. Actually I'm taking about 'live rocks'. Ya know, the one under from the oceans. I bought it for my marine aquarium. Unfortunately the aquarium set-up was an accident waiting to happen. Long story short, everything in it died, including the 'live rocks'. It makes you think twice about the phrase 'ROCK NEVER DIES'. LOL Quote:
