Great shots...the lower AT is an inspiring place this time of year. I would like to have been along on that hike, except for the encounter with the yellow-jacket. they can be aggressive in autumn. Is the rock wet or is the reflection from it being "polished" smooth"? That's an especially interesting capture.

Thanks for the comments.

The yellow jacket was floating around in a shallow pool. He didn't seem to notice when I got close to him and I was pretty close. I didn't get quite as good shots of the 5ft snake I saw later. :-)

A couple more of the yellow jacket. I liked the reflection in the first one the best though.

Outstanding captures, I really like the one with the backpack in it.

Very nice set kejohnson. I love the colour and contrast of the 1st shot. The yellow jacket looks amazly close. How close were you.

I was within 3 inches of him in macro mode. He didn't really move much other than floating around in the water. That helped.

That's a nice set of images. But the fourth is my favorite. I love the reflection of just his antennas.

Beautiful shots of a really pretty place. I like the backpack on the rocks with the mountains in the background. Makes me feel like I'm there.
