A very beautiful image Shelley. I don't know exactly what RAW is, but I do know what a good shot is, and this is one. Thanks. PAUL

raw is exactly what the word says RAW. It allows you to adjust every part of the picture exactly like you adjust the settings in your camera. from exposure. contrast, white balance, picture settings ( portrait, standard, momochrome etc.) the only thing you cannot change is your iso. Its the only way I shoot. biggest advantage beside the obvious is you can open and close, edit over and over without the worry of data loss. jpeg everytime you open the file you lose a little bit of data. the biggest disadvantage is the file size. its a lot bigger. when you get done editing save to tiff. that way you can open and close the file without data loss. if I said anything you already knew I apologize. I sometimes go on a little long. I hope this helps a little. nice pic by the way, very sharp

Beautiful shot Shelley. RAW is the only way to shoot in my book. There is soooooo much more control over what you get in post. Have fun and keep on trying new stuff!
