This is one of those buildings that shouts "Tucson, Arizona"--one look and you know where you are. You have them in your own city. But you have to admit that not too many public buildings are pink. There was some controversy about both the color and the style when this Spanish Revival building was built in 1928.
The recent Tucson Meet Yourself festival was held in the courtyard of this building. When I was processing my photos afterward, this beautiful dome was featured in many of them. You know how places whisper and sometime shout, "come, take my picture"? Resistance was futile. I had to go back. I hope you enjoy these shots of our pretty, pink courthouse.

I happen to think it's a gorgeous color...and your photographs of it are lovely! I really, really like the second one, the way the arches draw you in. I have to admit I've not seen a pink government building before...the softer side of the government, LOL! Thanks for sharing these.

Nice post, Linda. I think my fav is the third one. I like how you framed the dome in the arch, and B&W works so well in this shot. I also notice you follow Star Trek (resistance is futile). My wife and I are trekkys and mainly watch Voyager. The Borg are my favorite characters in that series. Take care.

I really like the 2nd shot, although they are all great, I would have to single it out! Great work and thanks for sharing. I always enjoy seeing other places and you presented this very well!

oooh Lindy..love the color of your courthouse..the arches and the symmetry are great..the details of the columns are nice too..but the third one is my fave in the set..the framing really made the dome the focus of the shot..this just proves that great architecture can still be great in any color..or no color at all..tnx for sharing..

Hi Lindy, I am not terribly surprised at the color......so much of the Spanish/Hispanic look are in the yellow orange and red spectrum. What is so nice is the arches...makes the place seem alot larger than it really is and lends an open air friendly feel to it. Most gov't bldgs have a stodgy intimidating presence about them. Bet there would be alot of gov't workers across the land that would love to work on these grounds......beautiful array of shots

Nicely done, Linda. I'm still trying to get a day to spend down at the courthouse. Maybe next week. Thanks for making me THINK about getting off my butt!
