Wow! What a shot... Lovely lighting, and detail. The doll looked like a real person at my first glance. TFS.

What an absolutely gorgeous doll! My mom had a love for Asian art and she would have LOVED this...as I do. Your lighting is beautiful and it really stands out against the black background. Nice job!

Hi Michael!! i know the title said 'doll' but i thought it was a portrait of a real person when i scrolled the photo..you really managed to bring the detail of your subject with your lighting..as a master of macro i think this is just the easy stuff for you..haha..hope you'll find the opportunity to go out soon..tnx for sharing..

I think these are good exercises Michael, in this case the lighting perfectly compliments the porcelain pure features of this charming figuer, if we can manage the light effectively we should be able to capture most anything, nicely done

Very pretty! It is an interesting technique, isn't it? The lighting is so perfect, and leaves the viewer wondering about the source - if you don't know.

Thank You Beach, it is giving me a new perspective on lighting and how it's applied to the subject. I Don't know how this will work with portraits, but I'm going to give it a try soon.

Hi Martha, Yes, I've been asked "How do you do that" on Flicker. It really gives the photographer a little more control over the light. It's really very easy to do. I'm living proof! l.o.l
