Default The last daisy standing

I swear that this must be the last daisy standing......haven't seen one in a great while and I just happened to stumble upon it......Since it was close to a barn, I thought that I would incorporate the structure into the shot.......After the daisy, I found a couple of other plants above the grasses and used them in some dof experimentation.....the barns are a bit too soft here but like I said, I was shooting through a few frames to see what would happen....I have no dof button like alot of you do so it is trial and error for me to find the right clarity across the whole frame.

Hi Patrick! You have a nice lighting and great DoF on the barn..i can still see the shape and colors without being detailed about it..the soft edges of the barn made your subjects stand out..bet you were almost squatting or lying in the ground for this kind of shot..hmmn..which one to chose? this is tricky..just like your dandelion shot..i would pick no. 1 as I can see more of the grass and the warm color of the barn..it really makes sense to the ‘last daisy standing’..tnx for sharing..

DoF is spot on Patrick, the barn is detailed enough for there to be no mistake what it is, but allows the daisy to be the star of the show.

Some beautiful colours - I love the composition of the first......

Hi Patrick. You are definitely on the right track in terms of depth of field. I love the shallow depth of field in these shots. Like Jennie said, it really makes the subject (daisy) stand out nicely, while retaining enough focus on the barn to know what it is. Awesome set!

I love #1~ it is my favorite of your series here! I have to agree that I think the DOF is great in the first one, I can still clearly see that is a barn but the flower is tack sharp up front. Very nice.
Looks like you may have a few dust specks on your sensor...I am sure you may have already seen that but thought I would be a friend and point that out just in case. I am the friend that would tell you if you had food in your teeth.
Regardless, nice work!

Yes, Michelle, I saw it and that comes with having a low end dslr that doesn't clean itself.....The pics have not been gone over in detail...If I ever want to do anything with it, then I'll spend more time with it and clean it up.......now I have to get to cleaning the camera before I shoot anymore.....thanks

It happened's to all of us low end, high end, dust does not discriminate. Wasn't trying to pick on you! I just spent an evening cleaning all my gear.

These are great Patrick, I like #1 and #3 the best. (With or without dust specks, she really would tell you if you had food in your teeth, LOL )
