Default B/W In Rural America

Not much going on photographically the last couple days. Although, on my way back home this morning, I passed some cotton fields and came upon this old brick and mortar building. I thought it odd out in the middle of nowhere that the windows were barred. The 11am sun cast some pretty dramatic shadows. I like the detail captured in the close up of the brick. I'm going to put one of them in my portfolio...not sure which one yet. Thanks for looking. (suffering from shutter block right now....whooooaaaaa to me!!!)

Building b-w 2 (1 of 1)

Here's a color one that bode well from some PP.

I really like the second, the shadows cast by the bars and the light are really interesting.

sorry, but I'm suffering from shutter block right now

I need a T shirt with this as the legend !

What a nice, neat self contained set Jim, I like it. I like your blank canvas wall and the ever changing shadows as the sun rises towards noon, definately one for any portfolio

Very cool! I love the shadow play. The 2nd and 4th are my favorites. Amazing how the mood changes when you go from color to black and white!

Nice series!

Great set Jim! Cool shadows and they work fab in B&W. Between yourself, Diz & Paul L, you've got me on a B&W deployment! And as I scrolled down the photos, I came to the awesome yellow and blue one. What a treat. You know how much I love bright colors ;-)

Love this set Jim, and I hear what all of you guys say about B&W, but I have to say my fav is No 4. When you scroll down it just bursts out and hits you. Thanks for these. PAUL

Jim great set! I like the third one best. In my opinion it has the best composition and perspective. They actually have cotton fields in Arizona?

I'd love to see a tee shirt like that. I have an embroidery/silk screening friend of mine who might make one for me. ...maybe with a reference to DPS on it!! I'll let you know. Thanks for looking, Steve.

Thanks, Nicky. Saturation was cranked pretty high on the color one, but it worked well! Show us your b/w when you're ready!!

Thanks, Duane! Cotton aplenty here in AZ! Ever hear of Pima Cotton? That's one of the largest cotton brands in the world, grown right here in Pima County, Arizona!! Thanks for looking.
