I'm in Southern California on business, and had yesterday free (the only day in the week I've been here). I opted to spend the money for the Marine Wildlife tour. It was a gorgeous, calm, clear day. At points, we could see the ocean floor (and the bright orange garibaldi fish swimming near the kelp forests).
Mostly, we saw a LOT of dolphins. I'd almost switched out lenses - from my 105mm macro lens (which, luckily does have an infinity focus) to my 45mm-150mm zoom (the standard kit lens that came with my camera). I opted for the 105mm macro lens - mostly, because I'd be able to focus a lot quicker than with the other lens. After a few frustrating attempts, I almost put my camera up - moving targets were never my strong point - but I decided that I'd likely never have another chance at this. Kinda glad I didn't put the camera away.

Lesson learned Velvet. NEVER put your camera away. We would never have been able to enjoy seeing this magnificent creature if you had. Thanks a million. PAUL

Well done, just enough to show some motion but not blurred. Love the tone also.

A wonderful shot of the dolphin as it gracefully re-enters the clear blue water. I am hoping to capture some shots of dolphins this summer. TFS this great shot.
