Default Sunflares and Skies

A few more landscapes that I took after my beach portrait session. I've been dying to try sunflares and here are my first attempts, along with a view of the beach I practically grew up on. Great memories here for me! I still have a LOT to learn about and sunflares, but I'm more or less happy with my first attempts. Enjoy, and as always, thanks so much for looking.

Susan, nice set. You did fairly well for your first attempt.

Great shots, Susan. I like the comp in the last one. The lifeguard chair with the sun is my fave though!

Beautiful images, Susan. You should spend more time at the beach! I like them all. You've made great use of that lifeguard bench. It's my favorite in this set and, if I remember correctly it was my favorite in a previous set of yours.

Nicely captured Mrs H, I do like this set, the second image in particular with the sun just dipping behind the trees, and the lifeguards' chair still just visible in the fading light, this took great timing, quality work as always Susan

David, I'm so happy to see you back! Thanks so much...you comment means even more to me, knowing you're still recovering and yet you took the time.

I studied up a bit before this shoot and basically when shooting into the sun to get the flare/starburst effect, you need to shoot at a pretty small aperture. The one with the lifeguard chair was shot at F/25, and the one above the trees was at F32. These are almost SOOC, just a few tweaks in brightness and contrast.

Thanks again...and welcome back!

Thanks Mike! That lifeguard chair was just begging to be photographed, LOL....it so reminded me of my childhood, I think that's how it made its way into so many of my photos taken here.

By the way, I love your new profile pic!

Thank you very much, Dogtaggart. It was fun going out and giving this a try. I was so lucky to get that sky...there is very little PP done in that photo, it was really that gorgeous!
