Default Old and New can both exist together

I love going out driving about the farming area here in Fort Wayne Indiana, and seeing how the cars and amish wagons can both share the roads together.
I have a great respect for the amish community and i love their simple quiet lifestyle.

Beautiful shots. I used to live in PA & occasionally ventured into Amish country - very peaceful. Love all your photos - think the 2nd is my favorite.

I always love your amish shots. I especaill like the one with the two carriages approaching each other. It's a view one rarely sees. Gorgeous colors in the park and I don't think I've ever seen a barn I don't like. Love seeing your part of the country.

I did a soft focus on the second one because i didnt want to show their faces..i like the way it came out. ( they dont like being photographed face on due to their religious beliefs)
The always wave as you go past and the smiles on the little children are priceless..

I love the Amish photos, too! I spent a summer in the early seventies at Franklin College in Lancaster, PA, the heart of the "Pennsylvania Dutch" Amish country. Your photos bring back great memories. I like the soft focus you used on the second shot; I'm aware of their aversion to being photographed face-on and appreciate your respect for their privacy.

I used to strike out from Lancaster on Saturday or Sunday (or both) on one of the country lanes and get completely lost in the beautiful countryside (no GPS back then!). Sometimes I wouldn't see a power line for hours. Add the covered bridges, and it was a photographer's heaven.

Nicely done, Lorraine. I like the colors refelcted in the pond. The rear view shot of the wagon is my favorite, though. Excellent persepctive! I like how you blurred out the edges too. Thanks for sharing.
