Default Black and White Fantasy Girl

Okay, so I have a confession to make - up until this weekend I've been using photoshop 2. Yes, that's right. NOW I have photoshop 7 and I can't believe what a difference it makes, especially with b/w conversions. So I'm going through pictures from this summer and fall and reconverting them. This series I shot of my daughter is one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy.

This shot was overexposed and Julia is blurry because I was shooting with an ND4 filter and trying to zoom out with the lens with rear-sync flash. Despite all that, for some reason, I really like this shot, especially in b/w.

Great shots, Martha! I really like the second and third. The motion you captured is perfect. ...and I really like the contrast you achieved in the conversion of the last. When I convert to b/w, that's the effect I try to achieve in trees.. Well done!!

Thanks, but I think the contrast was completely accidental, thanks to overexposure and nuking her with the flash. But, sometimes mistakes give better results!

Hi Martha. I like al the shots here, but the second is my fav. It is sort of surreal, and exudes movement/ motion without being too abstract. Nice work.

Hi Martha, the movement you captured in the second shot is really very good. The conversions in all three are very well done.Until DPS I didn't realize B&W had so many options. Still learning though, so hopefully will post soon.
