Default A Day Of Observance At The Seaside....

We had a wonderful family day at the seaside yesterday, with Daughter (Elaine), Son-inlaw (Rob) & their 2 children (Jessica & Jamie). We initially set out to do a spot of fishing but ended up doing quite a bit of observing as well. I saw the largest Jellyfish I had ever seen, and the children found many more smaller ones in nearby rock pools. The water was alive with small herring like fish and the birds, particularly the terns, were very active all day. We sent out two long lines, which yielded three sharks, one snapper & a Stingray, however, Rob caught a very nice snapper with his rod & reel later in the afternoon. The day ended with a beautiful sunset which added the grande finale to wonderful family day.

What a beautiful close of day that was! I caught a sting ray once on a rod and reel off of a boat in the marshes between Brunswick and St. Simon's Island, Georgia

And did he make a mess of your line? They are shockers and can twist the line into hopeless knots, quite an experience though trying to bring one in.

Thankyou Ella. The Stingray was only about half grown, but his tail was doing the whip of an adult...my goodness!

Thankyou Michael. It was a truly beautiful day, and having some of the family with us was a bonus.

Thankyou so much for your comments. Yes there was plenty to capture, and all very interesting stuff, with heaps of activity amongst the birds and sea creatures.
