Hi. I'm not a professional by any means but with practice and one day the right equipment am hoping to be. My family thinks I have natural talent and I have been asked by my future mother in law to do some family shots of them. I just don't think I have what it takes, I'm very unsure of my talent. Please if you could honestly critique these pictures.

BTW, my current camera is a Canon Powershot S5IS, its okay but its definitely no DSLR. I also do not have any photo editing software and just run my pictures through the "fix it" area on my microsoft gallery and adjust the exposure and contrast to brighten the colors and sharpen the image. The effect this has on the pictures, some people have told me they love it others have told me they hate it.

remember to read the rules for the forums ... i'm sure a mod will get to you.

Picture wise you do show a natural eye for photography.
Just keep reading, looking at others, and shooting. let it all soak up into untill all you breathe is photography...(maybe not that bad) After that confidence will follow. you just need some fine tuning

Hi there and welcome ... these are very beautiful photos .. if you didn't have to do a lot of tweaking, that means you set the settings on the camera correctly and right there you're way ahead of the pack .. I'm glad she moved your threat here .. nicely done .. and btw - this is a very lovely family

I think these are really lovely...we all have had to start somewhere...you obviously have a good eye...and this is a great place to learn more. Please do keep on with it and keep sharing here. There are so many wonderful and helpful people here.

Welcome to DPS. this is a great place to learn and grow as a photographer. I think you've shown excellent composition on all of these, which is much harder than mastering the technical aspects of photography. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts.
