Default Dead tree in the desert converted to B/W

...so, with nothing else to do tonight until Letterman comes on, I converted a couple tree shots from the other day to b/w. I shot them with my 85mm, f/1.4 with a yellow filter...which was probably useless anyway after the contrast boost in PS. This gorgeous, albeit dead, tree is not far from where I live. It's a shame, too. This tree is almost as beautiful in death as it was in life.

Nothing spectacular...just filler...couldn't bear the thought of going to sleep w/o having posted a shot....but I can quit anytime...really...anytime....no....I mean it this time....honest....

I'm starting to like b/w more and more..... By the way, by popular demand, there are a couple more on the 2nd page of this thread. I mooned you one more time!!

These are great conversions, Jim. I especially like the second shot, i find the composition more appealing, and it may have to do with the wider shot, and the moon. I tell you, once you start into B&W there is no turning back! Just kidding! I actually posted some coloured shots tonight (for a change).

I love trees! All kinds of trees. These are great. I also prefer the second one, I like having the moon included. I find myself wanting to see more of the tree. Might just be me. Regardless it is really nice.

I have to echo to what's been already said. The second shot does it! The B/W treatment works so well with these captures. Thanks for the share.
