Default Camera club studio session

with a model named Hazel, as part of my camera clubs portraits group, she was very plesant and very good considering most of us had never shot studio before.

I like them very much...she's cute. I don't know if I like the color or b/w better...both are really good.

Excellent lighting on these and I like the B&W and the color equally well.

I like them all and like you am a fan of black and white but for these, especially the first one, I prefer the colour versions. What is the shadow bottom right of the second shot?

Though it may be a case of "eye of the beholder" thing, but I found the lighting to be somewhat flat and about half an f-stop too dark.

From what I can tell, the shot was taken with one light source, camera-right and it's caused a shadow, subject left on the same photo.

Additionally, based on the chosen pictures, facial expression and head-tilt were identical - no range whatsoever.

If you'd like a detailed critique on one of them, why not post over in the critique section. That will get more of the type of response you're looking for than SYS which is aimed at sharing shots you're proud of and don't want critique on.

the shadow is hers as the light set up was was a high soft box camera right and a low soft box camera left set a couple of stops lower as a gentle fill
