Default First timer...

Hi,
I stumbled across this site a while back but have never posted. I'm extremely new but want to learn more before taking the next step and upgrading my camera. Anyway, I'd like feedback on some photos in order to learn.

Keith

WELCOME to DPS
I really do like these. The lighthouse one with the wood in the forefront is really awesome.

How do you include photos so that they're inline and don't need to be clicked?

Lighthouse is my favorite. Most use Flickr for better shots here. There is a sticky somewhere. I noticed when I started here and posted directly into the message the quality does not seem a s good. Welcome and look forward to seeing more of your shots.

Hi Keith, and welcome to the DPS family. I can see by the sheer quality of these shots that we are in for some great viewing. This is the place to learn and share. Enjoy yourself here. God bless for now. PAUL

What about the original vs. the B&W version of the first one? It's cropped slightly different though.

Thoughts?

Nice set, Keith! I, too, like the first one. Excellent compostion and wonderful contrast throughout. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice. I like the first one too but also like how the small, narrow path stands out so much in the second pic.

I'm too new and too much of an amateur to offer a critique, but these are great!. I can't decide which is my favorite between 1 & 2. I'm partial to lighthouses but there is something about the second one. Great job. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts!

Thanks for the comments. The first one is my favorite but it wasn't until I cropped it. It's amazing to me what that can do to a picture. Like I said, I'm just starting to play and am using a simple point and shoot for now, so your comments are appreciated.
