Default More September - October shots (w/ a Bear!)

Ok, first off - since Neil (CaptainNH) didn't grok the IR shot I did of the jack 'o lanterns I've included a different angle shot by candle (and pumpkin) light.

Then, a couple fall shots - I like the mirror one, something about the composition of looking forwards and backwards at the same time I guess.

And the promised bear. Same spot as the pictures above. This young guy has been living in the greenbelt behind my home - he'll be sleeping his hibernation soon.

Creatively done with the side-mirror and wonderful pumpkins shot!
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys.

I really like the composition of the mirror - it's not a professional type composition (and that's not what I was trying for) but I like that the road continues in a line, and the light sky space in the front is reflected by a similiar sky space in the mirror.

It's one of the shots I've got this last month that I keep coming back to - glad you liked it.

Love the mirror shot for both composition and colours, hope you weren't driving at the time though.

I can't believe you have a bear almost in your back yard! Beats the heck out of the possums in mine.

Thanks for the kind words.

We live in Central BC, Canada - so we have bear, deer, fox (There's a really pretty black fox that lives on that road that I've never been able to shoot, he's too wily!), wolves, cougars etc. as a pretty daily part of our lives. Our city has lots of green belts and is pretty small, so there is lots of wildlife around all the time. I've only started noticing how much since I've taken up photography as a hobby - and I've only had to retreat back to my vehicle because of a curious bear and me near her berry patch once! Not this bear though, he's young, gets in everyone's garbage and will be napping for the winter pretty soon, as we've had about 5 inches of snow today.
