Default 1st Panorama

Hey everyone. I went up on the mountains for some pictures recently. On the way back, we stopped and saw a pretty good sunset. I decided to make a panorama, check it out.
Sunset Panorama

The panorama consists of nine images stitched together using GIMP.
The first time I tried, GIMP crashed when I was about to save. This time though, I saved after every step (Ctrl+S).
I know, it's not the best, you can see some color mishaps and a few seams but it's my first try, and I'm rather happy with it.
Happy shooting

Your first attempt at a panorama was better than mine!

Good job, nicely done *applauds*

Try stitching with Hugin. Trust me. If you like the Gimp, you'll like Hugin.

I have it inkista, it's sorta confusing, and my first attempt came out horrible. I'm sure if I really understood hugin better I would do better, but for now, Gimp seems to work.

Thanks, yeah I sorta have to agree too.. but I like how it transitions from orange into light orange into black going from the left to the right.

Yeah, Hugin has a bear of an interface and is not trivial to learn, like most open source GUIs on top of line-command utilities. But it does seam blending, exposure matching, and warping, so it's worth learning if pano stitching is going to be a major thing for you. And it's open source and cross platform. Having a front end for enfuse alone made it worth my while to learn, even though I normally stitch in PTMac.

Ah ok. If I start to do more Pano's I'll maybe try to learn Hugin.
