Thank you Ottor....I don't know if you know I lost my son in Iraq, but these have special meaning to me....and I appreciate them...aside from the fact they are incredibly well-done. I also want to say...please don't feel bad about this posting because I told you about my son...that has been other's reaction and it's not necessary. We are very proud of him and love to see that people notice and recognize those who made this sacrifice.

So sorry to hear about your son leonaashlee, and 'back at'cha" dmpete - thanks for the comment Sox Addict ....... Just thought a quick reminder would be in order, with all the controversy these days about our Gov., we need to take a quick step back and once again, realize who we are, and just how we got here...

I'm a former Ranger of Viet Nam era - was a LRRP for the 75th for a while - seen too much, but couldn't be prouder of or men/women that have served in the past and present.. If you've ever been so close to the enemy as to actually smell their sweat, or a family member of one who has, it's hard to imagine what a service member in combat actually goes through - believe me, the thanks is very welcome...

I have a lot more taken that night, and I'll post more as time goes on....

thanks again...

I had heard Leona's story before and it really borders on the unimaginable. My pastor's son lost one of his feet and has numerous boudy wounds from shrapnel. It is true that we must never forget the sacrifice...another pastor friend of mine was a Navy vet who served in Vietnam and he still deals with physical ailments from that war. When the fighting stops, the wounds go on. We must not forget.

Both are beautifully done and are very pleasing to view. For the second one, was this taken at night?

And thank you very much for the reminder.

Nice shots Ottor. I especially like the last one. It is sort of surreal. TFS.

Thanks for the comnents...

Yes, both were shot shortly after sunset ... There were over 3,000 flags set up for about a week in a field just off of the freeway - landowner does this every year around 9/11 and each flag represents a person that died on that day..

I'll post a couple more this evening when I get home...

thanks,
