Default Portriats from Asia

These photos were taken from various trips to Central Asia. In order they show:
  • Uighur men in the Western Chinese town of Kashgar
  • Uzbek women in Khiva, Uzbekistan
  • an Azerbaijani women taken on board a cargo ship on the Caspian Sea
  • Women from the Kalasha tribe in North Western Pakistan. The Kalasha are thought to be descended from Alexander the Great's troops.

I love taking pictures of people but so often you have to take the shot quickly so not many come out really nicely - something else to practice and learn!

I like taking these sorts of shots when I am travelling too - especially if you can take them when people are unaware of your camera. You are more likely to get a natural photo, that shows something of the culture. I particularly like the first 2 pics. Nice work.

WELCOME to DPS
These shots are wonderful...I love shots like this that share a side of life we don't normally see or know anything about whether it be different clothing, different housing, celebrations or whatever. Thanks for sharing these.
