Default Some Water Birds

For this first one, the spoonbill and tri-colored heron were fishing together for at least 20 minutes, with the spoonbill following the lead of the heron. The heron didn't seem to mind one bit.

Yeah, great shots! I too love the first as my fave - they make a cute couple, plus the colors are fab, as well as the reflection and the water ripples are cool!

HI Chip! In the first shot there seems to be a thread or something across the beak-near the water..........or is it just my eyes?? Beautiful shot there-composition and reflections.
LOVE the perfect reflections in shot two.

Love the beautiful color combination of the two birds in the first one. Glad to see they get along. Great reflection in the second and some added dimension with the reflection only of a second bird. I enjoyed these very much.

FoG - You think they were talking about the one that got away? Thanks for the comments.

Hi, moi. As best as I can tell, the "thread" is an underwater branch, grass or reed that the spoonbill hoped was actually a fish. The object, whatever it was, was gone a few seconds later, so there was nothing stuck to his bill. And many thanks for your comments.

Thanks very much, Mike. I, too, was glad - and surprised - to see that they got along so well. And thanks for your input on the one with the ibis and the reflection of the other. It's still a challenge for me to not blow out the whites on birds when they're in the full sun - which is why the water looks so dark in this one. Practice, practice, practice.

The first one is great, they look like long time fishing buddies. The reflection/s in the second one is very clear with the missing second body, lol. TFS
