Default Last One for Awhile

So, today was not so hot for me. I took a tumble into a water filled muddy hole and took my D40 with me. My assumption is that it's completely toast. Good news is that I didn't break any bones. I paid for my last camera with cash and I'll do the same with the next so it'll probably be a few months until I get a new one (a D5000 this time). That being said, here's my last shot to share until I have my bright shiny new toy to replace the mud filled one that I have right now.

I hope you like the shot.

Glad you're ok, Zannie. I'd like to observe a moment of silence for the beloved lost...........(faint sound of taps in the background)

Hope to see you back soon. You got a great departing shot, though!

I am so sorry to hear of your accident but pleased you did not damage yourself. But a camera is still a camera. Ouch! I hope this one will be repairable but, on the other hand, that could cost more than it is worth so good luck with the new one if you go down that path.

Nice shot. I love the lighting. Shooting into the sun is always a challange and you have done a great job there. I also like the composition - the triangle of the three youngsters' bodies. Great stuff.

Sorry to hear that. But happy to know that nothing bad happened to you!
Hope you will come back soon with the new toy and more great works.
With a D5000 you will have able to mount with the whole Nikkor lenses!
Anyway, this is a great silhouette shot! And I also like the silvery waves!
Good luck & take care!

Thanks Jim! I observed the moment of silence and streamed a recording of taps through my laptop.

Thanks so much Stephen. I was in shock and my husband and friend kept asking if I was hurt and all I could say was, "the camera, the camera". I'm really glad that you like the shot, I can't wait to get more!

Thanks! I'm definitely hoping to come back soon. My husband makes some pretty good barbecue that sells as a side business. Hopefully people are really hungry over the next month because I need to get back out there and shoot! I'll just steal my husband's point and shoot for now.

Thanks Angeleyes! That's awful, what happens in Vegas sometimes doesn't stay there. I'm really happy that I'm OK but still wish that I could turn back the clock and have a do over. I'm at least going to stick around and check out everyone else's work for inspiration.

Oh bummer, sorry to hear that the trustee camera took a beating, but glad you're ok. Beautiful shot though :-)
