Thumbs up Tokina 11-16mm, first shot, great lens.

Just got this new Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 and I love it. This is my first super-wide, outside from borrowing a friend's 16mm prime. This is my first shot with it while walking the neighborhood this morning, no adjustments except sizing down to a DPS friendly jpg (no crop either). Notice how sharp it stays throughout the picture, no vignetting, etc. I am very pleased with this lens.

Camera: Nikon D70
Lens: Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8
Mode: Manual
Shutter: 1/320
Aperture: f/9
Focal Length: 12mm

The subject is the "Golden Driller" built in 1953. He's 76 ft. tall.

Even I am starting to wish this lens. It is simply incredible for it's price.

Thanks again everybody. I just spent some time with it in low-light situations and am very pleased. It's no 1.4, but 2.8 at these angles is GREAT. I was a little apprehensive after ordering it, but now that I have had about 24 hours with it...I couldn't be happier.

Beautiful shots, Ryan! It's amazing how close you have to get for these types of images, huh? I'm glad you're enjoying the new toy, looks like you two are getting along quite nicely.
