Default Trip to Filoli Gardens

The Filoli House and Gardens is a national historic preserve in San Mateo County, CA. It's fairly nearby my home and a friend and I ventured there this past weekend to do some shooting. Here are a few of the images I captured:

A simple and effective set Rusty, I like them all, but the first is my favourite for looking sunnier and warmer than the others

Wow I really like these. Great perspective in all of them. I love the mix of colours in the first shot with the grass and catails. My favourite is the second with the interesting looking trunks of the orchard trees. TFS

Thanks everyone. I have others in a collection on my Flickr page. The cattails and the orchard are my favorites. These were all shot with custom white balance using an Expodisc.

I forgot to mention that Filoli comes from credo of the original owner: Fight for a just cause; Love your fellow man; Live a good life. Just take the first two letters at the beginning of each phrase and you get Filoli.

In addition, if anyone can remember this, the house was featured in the opening shots of the old TV show "Falcon Crest."

It is a nice place to shoot and I'll go back. But it costs $12 to get in.

Thanks again. I was shooting with an eye toward an assignment for a visualization workshop I'm taking. The assignment is patterns. I will probably submit the first three along with others for the assignment.
