Where did you have the speedlights positioned? The picture looks a little flat.

thank you Hayward i apreciate your feedback
Kirbinster - i Had the speedlite's positioned approximately 35-40 degrees to each side of her and app 30-40 cm over her eye level... the reason i only had them positioned 35-40 degrees to each side is because the narrow living room, we didn't have much space.. i would have loved to have a little bigger degrees to each side. but let me know what you think about the positioning of my speedlites.. and maybe if you have any suggestions to what i could have done in that narrow space?? |

I think the flatness is as much to do with direct flash as it is the positioning. The flash to camera left is quite harsh and has thrown a dark shadow.
I'd try softening the flash - either bounce, or, since space is tight, shoot through an umbrella. If you can't diffuse the light, then try stopping the flash down.

actually.. i think you might be right there Captain... because both flashes had the stofen omnibounce on to soften the light a bit.. and the flash to the right had a piece of white cloth hanging down over it.. so maybe if i did that to both flashes... think that would work?? to soften the light more from the other flash?

Hi there
A beautiful girl. Her pupils are so widely dilated taking from the bluness of her iris. Maybe it's a good idea to shine a front light at her face to get the pupils constricted prior to shooting. The pupils are apparently slower to react to the speedlights than the shutter speed. Cheers. |
