...so I was hanging around my kid's school one overcast, chilly day. The children were playing in the parking lot of the charter school they were attending. The sound of skateboard wheels on the pavement is unmistakable. This young man was just sitting on the step watching the kids play, tattered jeans, and hooded jacket---probably a birthday gift from year's past....waiting for his Mom to come pick him up. I called to him...he looked over and click. Another one of those photo opps that just happened! I thought the b/w treatment worked with the overcast tone of the day. The, mother, a good friend of the family, loved the shot so much, I printed it and framed it for her---11x14 with black frame and white matte. After presenting it to her, the young man in the picture carried it out to the car for her and promptly dropped it on the pavement, sending glass shards in a 10 foot fadius!!! (sigh) Thanks for looking.

I love this picture Jim. I have never done anything like this yet, but I guess it's a case of spontaneity. Broken glass or not, I bet his Mom loves it. PAUL

Thats a good picture, good natural light, good natural look, and all through the immediacy of the moment. The b/w, contrats with white pipes, the turned out left foot, the focus and shallow dof all add to the charm, I like it Jim.
