Default Hibiscus & Koi

I don't take many flower pictures, but I figured that since this is our State Flower... I needed a few in my collection

A few times a year we visit my Grandpa's Niche at the Valley of the Temple and the kids look forward to feeding the Koi.

Koi

Thanks for looking.

I just brought my hibiscus inside before the cold really hits...they remind me of my home and my family in australia. I dont know how to keep them outside in the snow..someone said to cut them down and cover them with straw and bags but i doubt if they would make it ...i love your first one...the colours in it are beautiful...thanks for sharing these.

Hi Nikki - my favorite flower - the Hibiscus .. a liitle story - when my children were young and growing up in Kaneohe, one of them would ask me why this particular flower was called the hibiscus .. I told him 'cause it was owned by the "biscus" family and everyone who walks by the flower would say "Hi" to it ... thus "Hibiscus" .. for a long time he believed that little gem ... very colorful images

Nice and very colorful shots. I can image the kids really enjoy feeding the Koi. From the looks of it you should be doing more of the hibiscus pictures also, their very nice!

Hi Angeleyes... I think it was a good idea to bring your hibiscus inside for the winter... not sure how they would hold up in the snow. Thanks for the kind words.

Hi Hayward,
What a great story! I'll have to remember that one if my son ever asks me why it's called a hibiscus. Thanks for looking!

Dvetter: Yes, they enjoy it so much that they forget that we are visiting a grave. Which is good I suppose.... it doesn't frighten them to be there. Thank you for your encouraging words... I'll try to get more flower shots in there.

Take care all... and again, thank you for looking!!!
