I am longing for summer and spent the morning looking at pictures from our week at Wrightsville Beach in North Carolina. I went out one morning to find a Wahine Surfing Competition in full swing, and ran back to get my camera. I love the little girl on the surfboard - the concentration she had was unreal! And then, of course, a few of my little wahine.

Martha, what great action shots...wouldn't have believed kids that age surf...amazing. Love the last shot...lol

Hi Martha - these are awesome .. at least your wahine is standing up ... the one on the first image is more like body surfing .. they look like they had a grand time

I missed the women's surfing part - I only made it back for the women's body board and the girls surfing competitions. But yes, a grand time was had by all!

Martha these are glorious! Fabulous action shots, full of color and sunshine. Don't worry, it'll be summer soon again in New England - after all, next July isn't THAT far away ;-)
