The Joy of Dance!

This Yarrow, one the dance instructors of Batucaxe. She was a joy to watch--so full of life and rhythmic energy Perhaps Gregory Orr had her in mind when he penned the line you see in my signature: "If we're not supposed to dance, why all this music?"
A word about these two photos. The white background is my tribute to "blown highlights". I've boosted the color slightly, otherwise, these are SOOC.

Can you guess the secret of this woman's smile? She's watching the Batucaxe performance.

Head Dress

This collage speaks for itself.

Lindy, you've captured a great celebration of joy. This festival has rung true with an inner chord of yours which is obvious with the photos you've shared with us. Each one is an expression of great art, and I've enjoyed each and every image in each and every post in this series.

Hi Linda
Youv'e done it again. I looked intensely at your pictures (which are true art) and was inspired to write and dedicate these few words to you. Hope you like and enjoy. PAUL

When a tone invades my senses
Fences fall
And all my fears subside
No need to hide
From all the dross of life
When the music starts

There is something almost transcendent in seeing people, many in their native clothing, enjoying each others food, dance, music. How alike---how different. Kinda like here, huh?

You have captured music of all sorts here. I especially like the tambourine shot with its festiveness. The dancer shows an obvious exuberance which is not an everyday occurence for the rank and file. Nice collection of shots showing your love for music of all stripes

Did you know that poetry is my Native language? Hmmm. I notice I have my hand over my heart probably to prevent it from leaping from too much joy. Thank you. (doesn't seem enough). May I share an old photo, taken with film, from a few years ago. It is very apt...a better reply than words.

Every time I post another set from the festival, I kick myself that I didn't tell you guys about it. I always used to think Tucson Meet Yourself---FOOD! Now, it's PHOTOS! Thanks, Leona.
