Default Water fountain color treatment from Arlington

...so, here's another shot from my trip to Arlington National Cemetery. I forgot all about this one. I was walking back from Kennedy's site, when I happened upon this water fountain. I couldn't have staged this one better. The sign was perfectly tilted, and I thought this was a Saturday Evening Post scene. I'm not sure if I like the organic one or the the color treatment better. I feel like the selective coloring has been too much of a novelty for me, and possibly overdone. Thanks for looking!

Arlington color

...and the organic one.

I actually like the colour one better than the altered one, but wonder if it might be a more powerful message fully in B&W...

powerful pic tho - thanks for sharing

Yeah...I tried the full b/w, but couldn't get the contrast where I wanted it. Thanks for looking.

Kindof funny when you think about the absolute perfection the military people maintain there.

Cool!! I love them both for different reasons - love the original just in general, lots of color & nice perspective. But like you say, the selective color shot is great for delivering the message and letting you focus in on the sign. Love them!

I enjoyed both but love the contrast of the selective color shot. Always enjoy viewing your work - thanks for sharing.

I agree, I like the b&w with selective coloring to make the point stand out. Both look good. Great catch!

I love em both! The selective color adds that little extra touch to make it stand out. The organic version is just a classic shot. Poignant, if I do say so myself. I, too, enjoy your work! Keep em coming!

I acutally used Lightroom. I haven't figured out how to do it in PS yet. Thanks for looking!

It is quite ironic, PNS! I guess they put all their efforts in what really matters. Thanks!

Thanks, Nicky! I've never had a photo opp jump out at me as dramatically as this one did. I was excited that it turned out the way it did.

Thanks, Cobra! I was hoping it wasn't too morbid having the stones in the background behind something so mundane as a broken water fountain! Thanks for looking! Don't let go of that Cobra dream! I'll come up to SLC so we can burn rubber!!
