Default tight collection of color

The first is a shot of various leaves off of the same tree in my front yard......It is in all stages it seems.....

IMG_0618

We went to "Ashland", the home of Henry Clay a few miles from home on a leaf hunting expedition with the younger girls.....They just raced from one colorful tree to the next. This is a shot of them taking off for the next promising tree.

DSC_4264

"Ashland's" gardens are about gone but some roses are still hanging in there despite the latest frost

DSC_4275

Another rose shot with some darkening done to generate this particular look.....the trick is to slightly over expose the subject against a dark background like a hedge or a bush and then darken the whole shot in pp.....The overexposed rose becomes a bit underexposed perhaps and the background goes to black.....I have done several this way.

Jennie, I had suspected that you might like the leaves shot. I suppose your leaves stay green all year around.....the color is great, the cold not so great....it all comes with a price....lots of color and then sticks for 4-5 months.
