Yeah..filters can be tricky. Fortunately in the digital age, there's a lot less risk! I haven't used any filters except a yellow when I know I'm converting to b/w. But even then, most of the effects can still be achieved using PS. You got some nice oranges and greens, though. Thanks for sharing, and welcome to DPS!

Thanks. I think I'll still play around with filters, but only after I've gotten the shots that I want (i.e. I think I won't mess with focus, outside of depth of focus, unless it's on the computer). I'm not sure that I could have gotten this combination of colors on the computer, though.

I have a range of filters too that I am currently experimenting with. I think you are right though - experiment while the photos aren't important. Would hate to do a photo shoot and mess it all up. I prefer not to post process my pics too much. I think a great photo shouldnt have a need to be pp'd (maybe minor corrections). I do like this shot and good on you for going the a-la-natural way without using a computer. Top marks!
