Default Bear in Shenandoah Valley

I was really happy to see this bear - it's the first one I've ever seen outside of a zoo.

Cool shots! I think if I'd been in charge of taking them, there may have been some camera shake!

the only reason for the lack of camera shake was that I went to a high ISO. It was way too dark in there.

Awesome! I bet this is near Skyline Drive. We camped up there two summers ago and our site was positively THUNDERING with bears once we went to bed.

Yup! It was right on Skyline drive. If you follow the link through to flickr, there's a link near the bottom right that says "map" and you can see the associated GPS info. Sadly, this was the only bear I saw in the whole 105 mi. But I stayed in my car other than to get out for taking photos.
