Default Lookin' out my back door

We have a great view from our back porch. In fact I might start a series of photos I've taken from that vantage point, I've got quite a few!

Our town had a Labor Day celebration that culminated with fireworks. We went home to watch them from the porch. I wrapped my Gorillapod around the railing, hooked up my remote, and just started shooting continually, fiddling with the settings every few seconds to see what would capture the fireworks best. My autofocus doesn't work at night, so most of the 200+ shots I got were too blurry. Most also had bad timing, or just weren't interesting. Woohoo, a firework in the sky, how UNoriginal. I deleted 90% of them after uploading, but I was really proud of how this one came out. Mostly because it is one of my rare "organic" shots, that I didn't have to process in any way after I uploaded it.

It looks even better larger. I had it set as my desktop for a little while.

Great capture! The colors of the sky add a lot as well. Good composition and location of the firework. Good job!

Thank you! That's what I like about it - the colors of the fireworks reflecting off the receding smoke from the ones before made it different and more interesting.
