Default Bokeh newbie

I missed the deadline for the assignment, but I thought I'd give it a go anyway. Nothing really complicated about this one. Just showing my love for crocheting.

Here's the info on what settings I used. Constructive criticism is welcomed.
F stop: f/11

Uhhhh I see no bokeh here????? am I missing something??

Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light.

I see none.

Yes, your understanding of the definition of bokeh. From the link you provided:

Bokeh is different from sharpness. Sharpness is what happens at the point of best focus. Bokeh is what happens away from the point of best focus.

Bokeh describes the appearance, or "feel," of out-of-focus areas. Bokeh is not how far something is out-of-focus, bokeh is the character of whatever blur is there.

What was your backround, Tanya? I like the contrast in color between it and the knitting needle. Nice subtle texture, also.

But I see nothing but a red background??
Cannot tell if it is in focus or not there is just no DoF with that background.
I consider this Bokeh.

I do understand if you don't see why I chose bokeh to describe this shot. I am, however, very much new to this style of photography (this is the first shot I've taken in this style).

Try to look for multity colored backgrounds and use the smallest f stop your lens will allow (f/2.8) and focus on the image in the foreground. Hope this helps
