Default My First HDRs

Hi,

I was intrigued at many HDRs posted here so thought of giving it a try. I used QTPFSGUI and GIMP for the post-processing.

Let me know what you like and more importantly, dont like about the photo.

Thanks for looking.

Great shots! The second one is my favorite. I haven't done too much HDR but when I have the thing I always watch closely are the clouds. A lot of times they will get blown out so I would watch that.

Also, this is just personal preference but I think the first one would work better if it had a level horizon. I always use angles and different perspectives when trying to shoot so it works well a lot of the time but in this case I think the image would be stronger if it weren't angled. Just my two cents though!

Here is an example of an HDR shot of mine. Even in this one you can see a few blown out areas but overall not too bad. I used photomatix and photoshop for this one.

Great shots! Personally, I think HDR is all about personal preference. Some people like the real subtle HDR processed pics that simply make the colors pop. Others like them a little more "overcooked", or exaggerated for an artsy look. Myself, I like a little of both. It's mood-dependant for me. lol!

I really like the first one in your set...Maybe not so much the color, but the subject and the atmosphere created. I have two or three favorite trees that I have shot several times this past year. They're just simple little rugged looking trees on the side of the road on my way to work. They make great subjects!

I have never tried HDR myself, so I am no good in telling you what I don't like. But trust me, I just like all of them. These are great shots. TFS.
