Default Curbing My Habit and Other Things

I am getting hooked on B&W, and had some fun converting shots I had kicking around. Some may be repeats of colour shots. I hope you enjoy these, and always feel free to leave comments.

Nice work Paul. I really enjoyed the shadows in the first 2. The edge on the leaf in the third one. Very nice job on the BW...

Thanks Hayward. What can I say. I love B&W. My friend Bob and I were on the hunt for shadow photos one day as the women were shopping for educational supplies. We came across this sidewalk and street section that had trees lining it. The trees cast wonderful shadows, and we had a ball checking out various angles/ perspectives. Cheers!

Cheers, Fred! As I was saying to Hayward, it was one of those days when there seemed to bee tons of shots to take. Surprisingly enough, we took most of these at midday, around noon, hence pretty good shadows! Thanks for the kind comments.

In a world of colour , you are developing the ability to visualise what would look good in b/w. A good set of images Paul, I particularly like the strong shapes and shadows of the leaf, and horizontal shadows and vertical lines in the road pictures.

Thank you Steve. I have a sneaky feeling that this trend will continue to grow as time goes on. It is like you said about simplicity in an image, except this is a subtractive simplicity.

I can only say that you have mastered the art of B/W photography. Before, there were portraits. Now, landscapes and more. Thanks for sharing.

Nice job on the first two, i especially like the first one, a nice composition of shadows and light which resembles a keyboard. Thanks for sharing.
