We have four small dogs...soon to be five, and we cannot let them play outside alone....and this is why....

A nice set Leona.
Never crossed my mind that it would snatch a puppy.

cool shots, I saw one of these near my house a couple of weeks ago. They are quite stunning. Didn't know they would take down a small dog though. Geeezzz, I thought I only had to worry about coyotes.

They look great! I know what you mean....a friend of ours' dog almost got carried away by a hawk...took 3 weeks to recover from the wounds. Thanks for sharing...and wishing I knew how you got the framing effect around your shots...send me a PM if you get a chance. Thx.

Me neither but I guess that it would....gee that would be stressful to have to watch for that all the time. Will any of the dogs ever be big enough to avoid being susceptible to being a meal? In any case, that last shot of the lift off is pretty cool

That is beautiful... but I understand not letting your dogs out. We have bald eagles that hunt in our area and have dived for our children more than once. It is QUITE scary. You have to keep your eyes open and alert.

Nice captures.

Totally cool shots Leona. I especially like the last one. You had better keep the doggies indoors or they may become lunch.

A noble bird and you were able to take advantage of an excellent photo opportunity, but your dogs don't need to be bait. Our neighbors have a fish pond with Koi. When winter time comes around and the covering vegetation dies down, they cover it with a metal table top to keep the hawks out. They lost a few last year to birds of prey.
