Default Finally got my Pelicans ;-)

Went to the coast a couple of weeks ago, and finally got my pelican shots ;-) We went over to a little island via ocean kayak, so I didn't want to bring my good camera...I have an Olympus SP550, and its got a pretty good zoom on it, so I took it...my main problem was keeping the lens from fogging up, good golly was it humid! the lighting was really funky that day, but dems da breaks ;-) These are such cool birds, I love watching them.

And heres to the rats with wings ;-) I know the wing tips are a little fuzzy, but I still like the shot, with the blue sky and the clouds...

Congrats on getting the pelicans! I love snapping the brown ones we have here. And I love the seagull shot--the light is just perfect!

Nice work. I like them both, but I am partial to groups of three, so the first is my fav. Very symmetrical/ repetitive subject in this shot. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks ;-) yep, a friend we took with us, wanted to make sure I got the threesome shot LOL, insists that I send him some of what I got.

I really like the seagull shot too, but that wing on the front bird really bugs me. Any PS fix for that? or am I pretty much stuck with that?

Congratulations on your Pelican captures Stella. Love both of them but the first one is great with them standing so well in formation...Your seagull capture is fantastic too. You got the timing just right and the contrast and colours are perfect. Great work.

Dave.

I really like the first photo. The pelicans in a grouping with the seagulls in the foreground and the ocean with the funky lighting as you say is great. Sounds like a lovely kayak outing.

Nicely done, Stella. I like your composition with the pelicans amongst the seagulss and everybody in a row. I think pelicans are so cool. We were vacationing on Sanibel Island in Florida and took in a nature thing at the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge. Pelicans look like huge meaty birds, but they have hollow bones and weigh only about 5 pounds, which of course, makes them all the more interesting.

Really good shots..congrats. It's frustrating to want to shoot something and never able to for whatever reason.

I like these Stella, you wanted pelicans, you got pelicans, and you got gulls as a bonus. Well done the Olympus SP550, its not the camera but the person behind it. The gulls are my favourite and the blurred wind tips add value to the image, nice job
