![]() Hall of Mosses Trail. Olympic National Park, WA Olympic National Park is absolutely amazing. There are three distinctive ecosystems in Olympic: Coastal, Rain Forest, and Mountain Peaks. If you have a full day to commit to it you can actually see all of the different ecosystems. I took this picture just off of the Hall Of Mosses trail in the Hoh Rain Forest. Believe it or not there is actually a scientific term for the phenomena you see in the picture. Its called a nurse log, when a dead tree falls over new trees will grow up and around the log.
