Thumbs up 'Tidy towns and Simply red.'

Throughout the whole year, the Irish Republic holds a 'Tidy Towns' competition and participating villages across the country,compete to win the award.All the towns and villages make a great effort to make their streets and monuments pleasing to the eye.

In Labasheeda,where I found the mop hanging on the wall, red in all shades seemed to be the colour of optimism. But the paintwork...............not sure!!

I remember the mop and the hanging items theme, and this is another excellent selection, this time with a red theme.
But you're not sure about the red paintwork, is it good or not so good;
Is it a red letter day, or do you just see red, shall we roll out the red carpet, or would that be a red herring, maybe its a red sky at night, or a sailors warning, tell you what moi, lets just paint the town red

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....................brillia nt Beach-laughing my head off here.
Well, I think they could have 'read' the rules for the competition a bit more carefully.........got a few red heads together and re-painted some of the peeling/rusting items. Thanks for the great and humorous reply.

Images brought to you by the color red...I like how each of the elements stands out so well against the background. each of these is so well composed.

That red is such a contrasty color to that gray rock and gray sky......I think it's very artsy.

Hi pjflan-it does make a strong statement,doesn't it? A real theme in the small village by the sea. Thank you very much for the comment.

Red is hot, powerful and attention grabbing. It does it job in all these images. I love the building with the painted on window. So whimsical.

Great images, very striking. I like the windows the best - the red/grey contrast, plus it reminds me of the doors on Episcopal churches, which always seem so red and inviting.
