____________________________________________ I was playing around with light portraits using the bulb setting on my camera. When I came to review the photographs that I had taken it struck me that they echoed portraits that I had seen at Tate Britain's Francis Bacon retrospective, where the features are all contorted, with many different views of the subject in each piece. Taking this one stage further I merged three of my photographs into one, referencing Bacon triptychs such as Three Studies for a Portrait of George Dyer (1963), Study for Three Heads (1962) and Three Studies of the Human Head (1952). I hope that you enjoy this little experiment and would love to hear your thoughts and comments. Thanks for looking. |
