Default Santa Barbara Flowers

Santa Barbara Flowers: For my friends who love Hibiscus...and grandchildren.

Hibiscus Sunset

These are my favorite Santa Barbara flowers. My grandson, Taj, and his sister, Soleil. They are gazing at a fountain and Soleil is contemplating a swim.

Taj and Soleil

Soleil is very attached to her "Mimi". Mom says it won't be long before it gets permanently "lost."

Lindy, what I like most about these shots (aside from the subject matter of grandchildren) is your use of light. It is extraordinary from the glow along the stem of the hibiscus to the highlights on your grandchildren. The composition on all of them is superb. The second one is my favorite of the set. It could well have been a Norman Rockwell painting.

Linda, a fabulous photo of the hibiscus! Love the colors.

Your grandchildren are precious and so fortunate to have YOU as their grandmother! They're both lovely portraits - thought I particularly love the one of Tink and her precious pacifier, LOL

Thanks for sharing these.

Thanks, Fred. Are grands just the greatest! They make a yearly trek to Yosimite so they are getting the God's Great Grandeur experience you gave your children!

Thanks, Mike. The flower kind of makes sense. It was taken at Sunset and the light on the stem is that classic golden hour light. The one you like was taken mid-day. You can see my the angle of the sun in their hair. Oddly, it is the overhead light that brings out the golden highlights. I rules can sometimes be broken! Appreciate these comments, as always.

Soleil is VERY attached to her pacifier. Occasionally, she looses it and when they are reunited she exclaims "MiMi!!!" It's going to be so hard on mom to watch her give up her comfort. I think it's a dental concern that drives this decision. Thanks for these kind comments, Susan. Hugs.

I see that these kids have inherited your blonde hair......now if they inherit your great personality, the world will indeed be a much better place!

HI Lindy, The hibiscus shot is extraordinary, they are one of my favorites. Your grandchildren are adorable. I agree with Mike, the second photo does look like a Norman Rockwell. Very nice.

Wonderful shot of the Hybiscus and Taj and Soliel are just adorable. I think pacifiers are horrible things, and should be banned, burned or just forbidden. Wow, I might be an activist or something l.o.l
Thanks for sharing these
Michael.
