Default Nikki Sue Nikon's Word of the Day #9 - Golden

DSC_0122

Golden
Tall and gangly, blown by the wind
Ridiculed by hybrids in their fine gardens
Loathed by sinuses plagued by his pollen
His creator viewed his plight with dismay.
" I made you with awe and wonder
and yet you stand alone and despised
I will paint you across every field of the land
Give you center stage when others fade
Fill your golden goblets with the sweetest nectars
And no one will call what I've made vulgar and plain"
~Mike~

Sorry, guys, I couldn't stop with just one...

Go out today and enjoy what your creator made, including people, knowing that none are vulgar or plain....

Aw Mike, they're beautiful! And quite a touching little message too, brings a wee tear to my eye - very heartwarming, thanks!

Quality shots, Mike. I like the bokeh you've captured in the first one! Excellent prose as well!

Beautiful pictures and beautiful thought. The first is my favorite. I love the warm glow.

super post Mike how you are joining words and sight into a powerful presentation. Words don't mean much if they do no not ring true...but these very much do. We have alot of goldenrod here as well especially on the walking trail....and it does seem to be the last of the living color

Another creative combination of the written word and the captured moment.. I LOVE the golden hue and the shape of the plant.. and your poem fits the mood of the photos quite well.. great job Mike, really enjoyable

Nice shots! The bokeh in the first one is perfect; and the third pictures is my best of the four.
