Default This baby's gonna take some practice

My husband got me a lesnababy with macro kit for our anniversary. Very low-tech, very cool and VERY tricky to use. I'm going to have fun with it in NYC today. These shots are not good, I was just playing around with my new toy at work last night, but I am so excited, I had to share.

Don't sell yourself short, Martha. That's a great start. The newspaper one is great...as good as any I've seen on LensBaby's website. It also lends a very nice effect on the rose. Nice work! Have fun in NYC!!

Wow, these are great, really cool effects! You're gong to have great fun with that lens - what a lovely present from your hubby! Does he have any nice, single brothers? Haha!

My husband got me a lensbaby with macro kit for our anniversary

One of the great things about photography is that all the components are so wonderfully tactile, I can't think of a single item that doesn't click or screw into place, that doesn't make a noise, or that you can't take fantastic pictures or close ups with. Martha, I like all three of your images, happy anniversary and happy new lensbaby

Congratulations on the new toys! These are Great shots, I love what the lens baby can to for bokeh and how well it center focus's Your Newspaper shot is really good and so is the last one. Even the Rose capture is interesting because of the effect on the background.
Thanks for sharing these
Michael.

I absolutely love those first 2 pictures and can't wait to see what you come back from NYC with! The third pic is nothing against the actual photo itself, I just can't stand skittles!

You're having a blast, aren't you? I've wondered about Lensbaby and by the looks of your photos, it seems to be a great lens. You keep practicing and posting your progress. This is going to be fun watching you take off!
