Default 3000 posts and you're invited to the party!

It's been 8 months and it has been a wonderful ride. I have to say that more than photos, it is now a sense of community that we share that keeps us coming back for more. There are many friendships on this site and we have shared many things among us. It is with great appreciation that I salute each of you for displaying your fine photography skills and even more so your lasting friendships. I said that there was a party.....You are all invited but here's the catch....you must submit 1-4 of your favorite photos that you believe define your style of photography and hopefully sheds light on your enjoyments, perhaps where you live etc. In this theme of community, we are a bunch of men and women who are engaged in photography but who also live sometimes just down the street and sometimes thousands of miles away. My world has become much smaller......Through this forum and your photography, I have gone to England, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Canada, Portugal, Siberia, France, Sweden, Trinidad, Puerto Rico, Wales, India and of course many states within my own country, from the rugged west coast, the pacific northwest, the hot deserts of the southwest, the vast expanse of Texas, the sandy beaches of Florida, the tundra of Alaska, the beautiful northeast and the heart of the South. Together we all contribute to our photographic experience.......so please join me in sharing your shots......

When you think of me...I bet you think of horse country right?

Maybe it's a close up shot of insects in action

DSC_2203

Not surprisingly, it might be a flower shot

2 pink roses mod

Then again, maybe it's my favorite world of macro........

DSC_7084

Please post shots that you think we would think of when we think of you.....what's your style......who are you? You are a valuable contributor to our community.......Time for the party to begin!

Congratulations! Gorgeous photos! Love the rolling greens of Lexington. I almost took a job there 4 years ago. Really loved the area but the job I ended up taking here in MA seemed to suit my desires better, so Boston just pipped Lexington at the post sadly.

Great photos, Patrick! I think the ladybug one is my favorite. I'm going to try my hand at some macro shots.

First off CONGRATULATIONS on your 3000 post.

I love anything peaceful and relaxing.

Like sunsets
Sunset
and living in the peaceful countryside
A country view
or taking photos of some of the things Steve Shots and I see as we travel around the North Island of NZ like Huka Falls, Taupo NZ

or water rafting down the Okere Falls.

Patrick is right DPS is addictive to many of us not just because of the photos we share but the close family unit everyones encouragement and humour and kindness bring to the community.

Patrick it has been a pleasure viewing your photos. I enjoy your presentations for a couple of reasons, the obvious one is that you do great work. The second is that even though I live in PR now, I'm originally from SW Va. The areas you photograph are areas I have visited many times in my younger days as most of my relatives are from the general area and you bring back memories of a less hectic time.

I'll share a few photos with you that show a little of the island from my perspective.

La Mina Falls in the El Yunque National Forest (formally the Caribbean National Forest)

PR is widely known for it's bad beaches, so here is an IR beach shot that shows one in a different light.

IR Beach 2

The dam of my favorite birding area, Caomo Lake Dam

Coamo Lake Damn

And finally one you've seen before but defines what I really like to shoot. American Kestrel

American Kestrel II
