Default Trip to the Zoo

@#&*$&@!!! I will never master spot metering. *facepalms* And you do not want to be trying to catch a diving jaguar with a manual focus prime lens that mismeters. Really. Other than that... let's just say I'm slowly coming to grips with my new 50D. Slowly. With many learning opportunities. Why the @#&$* didn't I put the 135L in the bag? Ok. I feel better now that I've got that off my chest.

Nidira the Jaguar, going fishing.

New toys are fun and frustrating, but hopefully more the former than the later.

Unique angle on the jaguar.

The croc portrait is a very well done.

Here's a slightly more flattering angle of Nidira.

Sadly, I think I front-focused most of the series. Next time I go back, I'm definitely bringing the 135L.

And since so many of you like the croc shot, here's a "cut" shot from just a few secs later that I found slightly more disturbing, as it was me he was eyeing...

I'm getting better with the 50D--my main problem right now is still not being quite sure which control wheel to go for... unlearning the XT is a smidge harder than I thought it would be--I'm still shaking it out of the muscle memory. And yeah, despite all the grumbling, getting to know the 50D has been a blast.

Very nice.
Some of my best have been taken at the zoo.
I'm an animal fan.
I like both of Nidira. You caught her in action very well!
And the POV of the crocodile. Wow! Even I'm scared.
