Default Man and the Sea. . .

From NewPhotos

I took this picture early afternoon whilst driving past the sea in Mumbai. Standing on a rock this man seemed to be fishing with a crude cane. He had gathered a few onlookers including my wifey and me. Oblivious to all He continued not allowing man, sun or sea bother him. . . !

Appreciate your feedback and ideas to better my photos!

welcome to DPS.
hmm i think the subject should more likely be on the left side of the pic matter of taste.
in some places it is a bit washed out.that can easily be fixed up on any editing program.
well don't feel bad practice makes perfect!

WELCOME to DPS
This is a really nice shot...and it tells a story...it's hard from the pic to see what he's doing exactly, but after reading it I could see the cane.
Maybe a little closer crop? Not sure, but certainly not bad.

If this photo is representative of where you are at as a photographer, I think you have a lot to be encouraged about. The first thing is to develop your artistic eye and you seem to be doing that. You saw something special and had an urge to make someone else see and feel what you saw. The gap between what you saw and what you were able to capture with your camera may seem a mile wide at the moment but be patient and keep shooting. The more you practice the more the gap will close.

For the moment, I would agree that the composition would be more effective with the subject somewhere toward the left corner. Other than than I would say, don't worry about it for right now. Keep it in your files and come back to it when you have a good handle on editing.(I'm assuming you are new to editing as well and that too takes a lot of practice!) Get out there and have fun.
