Default Another good walk spoiled!

...so I went for another walk in the desert today, trying to follow my own advice...'the more you bring, the less you get." So, all I had was my D3, 24-120, and a nice yellow filter to help my B/W shots. The clouds were especially puffy today...marshmallow-esque, even! (can a guy say that?) These are some really nice rock formations nearby...red/orange and black. They're even more gorgeous when the sunset hits them. I'll post some of those later. I wanted to see how they'd translate into B/W.

After a bit of tweaking (contrast and a little sharpening), here's what I got. Any B/W advice would be greatly appreciated...

I really like the composition of the first one. When you do B&W composition takes center stage. The Saguaro is perfectly placed. Well done, Jim

Thanks, Mike. Absolutely...composition is evertything. I felt it was pretty well placed myself, balancing the void in the upper right. Thanks for stopping by!
