It's a lovely shot. The butterfly stands out because of the blurry background. TFS.

Welcome to DPS - lovely capture, butterflies are so hard to shoot as they have a tendancy to fly off at the opportune moment. My only comment would be a slight shift of focus to the left would have captured all the butterfly in focus and thrown the flower out slightly. Hope you don;t mind but i had a little play with the image in Elements

If you want to take great photos of a butterfly (or any subject), you will have the greatest success if you patiently observe the features, shape and movement of your subject within a given environment. For this shot, I drove to a butterfly observatory at the Natural History Museum of Gainesville, FL and walked among hundreds of butterflies for over an hour, watching their every movement, every twitch of their wings, flight behavior, etc. Once I felt I'd found a butterfly free of imperfection (great symmetry, no tearing of wings, etc.) I followed ever-so-patiently for just a few minutes until it landed on the flowers you see in the image. I then snapped just two or three photos and kept just this one.
